ONE-PAGE RESUME (updated 4/4/26)
Welcome to my page! My name is Tyler Ramsawak, and I'm a Sophomore Electrical Engineer
at the University of Florida. ![]()
I've just completed my second semester.
I enjoy playing my electric guitar, and want to start a backyard band in the GV scene come the Fall semester. I love 90s grunge, rockabilly, early emo, and shoegaze, and would like my band to take inspiration from artists like Candlebox, Title Fight, Marcy Playground, Duster, Quiet Commotion, Pavement, Basement, Brand New, American Football, Nada Surf... Here's my Spotify to get a better idea.
I collect reel to reel machines, mixers, rare speakers, vintage solid-state amps, and turntables. My favorite decks that I own are my TEAC A-3340S and TEAC X-10R! The A3340S, combined with my M-2A mixer and MB-20 VU bridge/mixdown units, I'm designing a portable cabinet to bring live tape recording to the stage! Naturally, I've become aquainted with calibration and repair of tape decks, and so if you're in the Gainesville or Orlando area and need a techncian, email me!
I also like to design my own electronics and enclosures in KiCAD and SolidWorks. I've made so many things, from simple class B amplifiers and state machines, to complex, multi-page, matched 4G VoLTE telephones! Currently, I am designing a replacement modem for the Motorola MicroTAC 9800X. I'm also working on a structured light sensor (SLS) based off the XBOX 360 Kinect sensor. It's commonly used in ghost hunting shows like Ghost Adventures, to show rigid-body ghosts. Unfortunately (or fortunately), ghosts are not real, but I still think it would be fun to build and scare my friends with.
